Eligibility Criteria for Canada Investor Visa
There are several eligibility criteria that must be met to obtain a Canada Investor Visa, such as:
- The candidate must possess a minimum of two years of managerial experience.
- Applicants should have a minimum net worth of CAD $1.6 million. They must then invest CAD $800,000 with the Government of Canada for five years, which will be returned to them, or they must make a one-time, non-refundable payment of approximately CAD $120,000.
- Once an application has been submitted under this program, candidates are not permitted to switch to another program.
Skill Assessments for Canada Investor Visa Based on Points
This scheme uses a points-based skill assessment, where candidates intending to migrate to Canada through this entrepreneur program will be evaluated on various parameters, including academic qualifications, business experience, age, and language proficiency.
Business Experience:
Candidates are awarded between 20 to 35 points for business experience under this parameter, and the experience must have been gained within the five years preceding the application submission.
Academic Qualification:
Under this parameter, candidates will be awarded points based on their highest educational attainment. Candidates will receive the maximum points if they possess a Master’s degree or PhD and have completed at least 17 years of full-time study.
Language skills:
Candidates will be awarded points based on their proficiency in either English or French, the official languages of Canada. Points will be given for the four abilities: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Age:
Candidates can receive the maximum points if they are in the age group of 21 to 49. Candidates aged below 17 or over 53 will not receive any points.
Quebec Investor Program
To qualify for the Canada investment immigration visa, you must:
- The applicant, either individually or together with their accompanying spouse, must have assets worth CAD $16,000.00 obtained legally, excluding donations received within six months prior to the application date.
- The applicant must have experience in either legal framing, commercial or industrial business, or in a professional legal business where the staff, excluding investors, hold at least two full-time positions. This experience can be with an international agency, a government, or one of its departments or agencies.
- Management experience is defined as having exercised management duties for at least two years within the five years preceding the application. This includes responsibilities related to the planning, management, and control of financial, human, or material resources under authority. Experience gained through apprenticeships, training, or specialization processes is not included.
- You must sign an agreement to invest CAD $800,000 with an authorized financial intermediary, such as a broker or trust company, if you plan to settle in Quebec and join the Investor Program.
- Alternatively, you can make a one-time interest payment of CAD $220,000 instead of the CAD $800,000 investment through our financial intermediary.
